July 1-5

It's crazy to think how fast time flies. I have been living in Taipei, Taiwan for about a month. Roughly a month ago, I left the dry heat of Phoenix to embrace a ridiculously humid summer in Taiwan.
July 1 nothing crazy or out of the ordinary happened. However, I saw a gorgeous sunset outside of the office at my internship.
July 2 in contradiction to just 24 hours before, Tuesday was one of those days of just torrential downpour. That same window with the gorgeous sunset now was a giant blob of gray.
July 3 was marginally exciting because I was feeling adventurous and I went and visited a Hawaiian Poke place near my apartment in Gongguan.
July 4 I met with my language partner (for the second time! These will be weekly events) at a cafe for dinner. I saw on the menu 花生醬漢麵包 (peanut butter burger), and I was intrigued. She told me that those aren't uncommon in Taiwan, and I figured it was as good of an opportunity as any to try one.
July 5 was one of my classmates birthday. So we all went out as a giant 12-person group to the original Din Tai Fung on Xinyi Street and celebrated! I had a lot of Chicken Soup Dumplings (小籠包) because most of the menu contains pork or shrimp.
