Since before I can remember, music has been a part of my life.
I used to dance: tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop, etc. I began playing tuba in fourth grade, and since then I've been in various school bands, extra curricular bands, and even honor bands.
Music is such an integral part of what makes me, me.
Yesterday, 1 June, we were given a walking tour of Old Taipei City. My CET group and I visited many of the five gates that surround the Old City, we learned about the history of the Taiwanese people, and we avoided a rally of southern Taiwanese people who traveled north to support their mayor as he seeks a presidential ballot.

After our tour of Old Taipei we were given the opportunity to explore. As we were right next to the Ximending Shopping District, I ventured into what seemed like an endless street of vendors and shops. Several things caught my eye in particular.
Picture 1 and 2: a rapper and a dancer in the Shopping District. Around both performers locals and tourists stood around to see what was happening and enjoy the performance.
Picture 3: a local band. Throughout the night they played Taiwanese tunes, along with classic American tunes (Frosty the Snowman, Sound of Music, and more). When I saw the group, I almost walked over to ask if I could play with them.
