05/06/19 - Longshan Temple is accessible via the Blue Line at the Longshan Temple Exit.

Longshan Temple is one of the more well known temples in Taiwan, because it has withstood several natural disasters and wars. It is one of the largest and oldest temples in all fo Taiwan.

Easily the most interesting thing that I learned here was about how the locals bring food for the gods, as they don't want them to starve. I was particularly entrigued when I saw what people were bringing for the gods...

When finished at Longshan Temple, be sure to visit Bopiliao Historic Block a mere five minutes from the temple. I unfortunately didn't take any good pictures of that location :(

However, when you come and visit be sure to pass by the Historic site!

05/07/19 - Bao'an Temple and Conficus Temple are both about a 10 minute walk from the Yuan Station off of the Red Line.

Officially the Dalongdong Bao'an Temple, was the first UNESCO site that I have visited here while in Taiwan. It became a UNESCO site for cultural heritage conservation (read more about it in the link above).

This temple is also unique as it was built with the practices of Feng-shui in mind.

While I was exploring the Bao'an Temple, I had the opportunity to watch a visiting artist? work on restoring part of the temple's art.

The Confucius Temple of Taipei, was kind of an accident that I happened to find myself at. My goal for the day was to actually go visit Bao'an Temple, but I managed to stumble into the Confucius Temple. I decided to venture in because of these adorable monkey statues!

Confucius said, "Do not watch what is improper; do not listen to what is improper; do not speak improperly and do not act improperly."

Something interesting about this temple was that it seemed to be very kid oriented. There were many exhibits and hands on activities for younger people to enjoy, anywhere from practicing calligraphy to hands-on math puzzles. These were all made possible from 孔子的六个艺术 (Confucius' six arts: ritual, music, archery, chariot-riding, calligraphy and mathematics.)

What was neat about this temple was it was considerably less busy than the other two that I had previously visited.
